As most of you know, our A and B pedals were once just one pedal. Bud Isaacs did it on "Slowly" and of course we all had to have that ONE pedal. But I have a question. When Buddy Emmons (I believe he is the one), split that pedal into A and B, does anyone know what the very first recording was using the split. I do recall one (don't think it was first) with Faron Young doing, "Country Girl". Anyone know? God bless you, carl

I believe it was said, "Half a Mind" by Ernest Tubb.

John, according to Buddy, it was "Half of Mind". I had always thought "Pick Me Up On Your Way Down" was the first until Buddy posted the answer on the forum when this question came up last6 year. I could be wrong on this next point but I thought Buddy also mentioned that Jimmy Day split them first.------------------ kd...and the beat goes on...

I recall one of my favorite posts on this forum--I even posted "are you pulling our legs, Buddy?" and he said I kid you not-- Buddy said that he split the pedals (I do NOT remember what song so this is off-topic, I guess) and then he told Jimmy about the cool thing he had done since the two of them were always swapping tricks. But he didn't mention that the "B" pedal was to the right of the "A" pedal and all Jimmy knew was to split the pedals and the way his ended up is now history--the DAY SETUP. Buddy never said whether his omission was deliberate--like my grandma 'forgetting' to mention a key ingredient to my mom--or whether it just slipped his mind.
