Carl,
I assume you mean the BE put the D note on his 7th string, and dropped the C note to the 8th string. But how does he handle the chord sweeps down there? I don't think BE plays with 4 picks, so either his sweeps include the D note, or he picks a lot of 3-note chords? Do you know???? .. Jeff

Jeff,

I seem to recall that BE covered that in a recent thread. What I remember him saying was he used his left thumb to mute strings he did not want included in the chord.

Only Buddy huh?

take care friend and God bless you,

carl

As stated earlier, every song that has a I,VI,II,V,I ("Home Again In
Indiana", "My Window Faces The South", and a gazzillion other
swing/pop numbers) need the boo-wah. Bundles of boogies (like
"Long Neck Bottle") need the boo-wah. Bazzillions of pop verse
turnarounds need the boo-wah. The boo-wah is life. Long live the
boo-wah.

It's everywhere, it's everywhere! After putting this on the guitar a couple of days ago, I've been having a ball!
Gotta be careful not to over use it.

Since we call the 8th pedal the "boo wah" pedal, in all fairness maybe the 5th pedal feels it is not getting enough respect. Maybe we oughta call it the "ba uhmm" pedal. Any thoughts on this?

HH

On my S12U I lower string 12, B to A, on the A pedal.
It's soooo kewl when you end a song with a big E9th Boo-Whaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Hi Ric,
You need a bell crank, pull rod, and tuning collar assembly. Then just hook it up to the A pedal cross shaft as a whole step lower. You may have to order the parts or take 'em off a change you don't use. A local machine shop could probably fill the bill.

Hi Jeff,

You are right about the Curly doing the lick without the pedal and if you'll go back ad read that is precisely the point I was trying to make. It is the end result that justifies the means!
