my wife ( great woman she is ) got me my horseshoe ring for my birthday, i have it on my first finger so the stage lights make it sparkle, i have it facing open end down when i play so the luck runs out onto the steel is this the way you wear yours or do you wear it open end up??

To "acquire good luck", wear the open end towards your fingertip. To indicate you have "enough good luck" already, wear the open end towards your wrist! If you don't believe this, just ask your "Buddy".
