If "playing live" includes my living room:

Solo Weissenborn:
- Begin the Beguine
- How Insensitive
- Once I loved
- Steelin' Home
- Sleepwalk
- Secret Agent Man
- The Breeze & I
- St. Louis Blues
- Walk Don't Run/Pipeline

Dobro:
- Bud's Bounce
- Slowly
- Wichita Lineman
- Ashokan Farewell
- Pagan Love Song

Lots of other tunes I go blank on when I reach the bridge

I had the privilege of screwing up "Highway Forty Blues" on our last show.. Thank God the band went with me and we rode it out. I think that I'd like to screw up "I Just Destroyed The World" next. Sounds fitting, HUH???

I'm glad Tangerine was mentioned. Definitive version, the great Maurice Anderson!

Kind of ironic, I was thinking of researching an Artie Shaw tune I heard years ago in Montreal, a little ditty called "Nightmare." And it hardly surprised me last night when Phil Fisher, a drummer buddy of mine, mentioned that none other than Paulie Franklin was nailing it. Paulie, you've got great taste!! Pete

P.S. Back to the blackboard.

with the joel darren show in reno i would start and end every show with a bastardized swing version of 'hold it' which i added a nite life turnaround, a little riff from the steve palousek intermediate C6 tape, a portion of the emmons snake scale, and a couple little cool chord thingies i made up...and i call it 'my own'!
otherwise, 'last date' is pretty easy to wing, and tunes like remington ride, the preacher, bud's bounce, and a cool simple version of a sonny garrish tune are all in my catalogue of tunes i let go so long i'll have to relearn them!

Something like 1/2 or 2/3 of the songs my band does are instrumental. I still have a hard time believing that people will sit still for that... We often do a mainly steel version of Wichita Lineman, and have actually started getting a lot of requests for it.

"A Fool Such As I", "Danny Boy", Bud's Bounce", and "Steel Guitar Rag" when it is requested. There are others that I play, but it is usualy one of these I've mentioned, when the front man turns to me unexpectedly and says, "Pick one".
