Mr. Emmons, I also suffer from the same form and location of arthritis as you. I am interested in the alternative medicine treatment you are taking. I understand that it is using "fatty omega 3 and primrose oils". Would you please provide more detailed information or point me to an information source. If you are uncomfortable with providing this information via this open forum, please feel free to email me via my forum email or "shootx@earthlink.net" Thank you, Allen P.S. Hope to see you in Las Vegas this fall. ------------------ |

Allen, My source of information for fish oil, flaxseed, and evening primrose oils has been from two books: Alternative Cures and Nature's Medicines. Both say much the same regarding the benefits of those oils to arthritis, which is lubrication of the damaged joint. I can't vouch for any one particular remedy because I've been using the oils along with Glucosamine. I can say that the pain would come and go when I was on Glucosamime by itself. Since I added the oil capsules, the pain has lessened, so I tend to think the oils have helped. I'll add that I started with a 28-day plan with a medication called CMO, which is supposed to kill the T cells responsible for the deterioration. The arthritis was a long time getting to me so I expect the healing process to be long too. The only thing I can say for sure is that it's better than it was two months ago, which I'll gladly accept for now. |

Buddy, Is there an outside chance you will be well enough to come to St. Louis this year? I have had to miss the last four years and it would be nice to hear you again. ------------------ |

While i do not have arthritis, i do have other conditions. I have learned a bit about using supplements. I took a food allergy test a few years back and interestingly, i was told to not take flax-seed, among many other things. Flax-seed is like the best source of essential oils. I have to use walnut oil as a replacement.. and, i only buy hypoallergenic supplements. So, what's my point? Well, i found that it is important to know if you have allergies if you want to derive full benefit from diet supplementation. |

Craig, I'm pretty sure I'll be working with the Everly Brothers at their annual Homecoming event on Labor Day weekend. |

Buddy I was still hoping you might try left handed so I might have a chance to play like you. Oh well |

Steel tryin, I'm trying the left handed thing and doing great, but with the pickup being to the right side of my bar now, I can't seem to get a good sound except on the 5th, 7th, 12th, and 19th frets. Don't give up yet. I'll find a way to make it work and we'll be locking horns in no time. |

Buddy: You get back up in the Toronto area, I'll let you practise on my left-handed Fulawka. Probably sound better in your hands than mine! Sorry didn't get to meet you in Toronto, but the show was great and the wife and I enjoyed it immensely. You looked like you were enjoying yourself as well. ------------------ |
