The "micro" part happend several years after I was gone, I know nothing of this except what I saw during a few visits to see Maurice after I went to Nashville. The Micro factory was as clean as hospitial, very organized and over all very impressive. Not like the orginal junky shop in my 3 car garage. So Maurice deserves ALL the credit for these guitars and business moves 'till the end of production.

He is my friend and will always be. We will have fun figuring this all out to the honesty and truth for all. Fun I said! Truth and fun to set history on the right track.
OK, so I just have one question. Is Reece having as much "fun" "figuring this out" as you are?

I believe that this is the most interesting topic on the Forum for some time, I've read some of the interviews that have been referred to, (well one on Reece); so I can hardly comment on anything here.
Fascinating watching a couple of guys working through it all.
Anyone who wants to know my book isn't finished, just imagine this debate times a 100 and you're getting there.

Keep at it guys, this is fantastic stuff.
With respect

Jason

Jim, I hope he is. I don't ever want to cause him any discomfort. He is the guy that made my playing what it is today(and don't be mad at him for it either) Maurice is extremly intelligent, a great comunicator and would be a worthy opponent if we wern't on the same "side".

I have to leave the computer for awhile but I want to leave you all with this statment: I want nothing I say on this subject to take away from what Maurice did to make this co. what it was. I had nothing to do with anything after the first five months,Maurice and Tom had the whole "bucket to carry" after that totally by themselves. I want no recognition I don't deserve. Good or bad. I was gone before 1964. Period.

I believe there is one fact that we can't, or shouldn't, argue over:

MSA made a d@mn fine guitar.

I think I've got it now. Bobbe started the company, Reece may or may not have been there. It depends on which of Bobbe's post you read. After some five months and no money, Bobbe abandoned his company, his tools and last but not least his friends and partners. The two remaining partners had to find a way to make it work. Why would this be so hard to beleve. I can beleve it. Bobbe I for one think you for all the hours I spent on my mSa.

Well I can't comment on the MSA company, but a few months ago I purchased a very heavy D12 from GD Walker in CA. Although this was a heavy beast made around 73, it was one fine guitar, excellent design and craftsmanship and played great. I did sell it as I really couldn't handle moving it around, but folks, I was and still am impressed by that guitar.

Thats it for me...
TP

I would be proud to play and sit behind an MSA at any time, just not one the weighs in at around 85 pounds !

This is a totally facetious comment, but the computer-literate will understand it. It is to accomodate the two S's in MSA's early history.

The logo could have been "MS^2A"

No offense, I hope.

I would love to have a brand new 85 pound MSA....but with the square cross shafts and new type bell cranks.

I have played on and worked on a few MSA guitars although never owning one-I must say though that this thread is interesting-I do remember at Scottys show five or six years ago when Tom Morrell and The TWTH band was getting ready to start playing and Bobbe was in the audience-Tom stopped to acknowledge his presence as the "The Man Who Was The "S" In MSA" and Tom asked Bobbe and his Daughter(Wife) to stand up for the audience applause-how do I make a smiley face?
