![]() ![]() This may have been brought up in the past, but it seems like a lot of us own more than 1 pedal steel. Makes sense to have 2 , 1 for home(practice),and 1 to gig with. How many do you have??? |

![]() ![]() I have the S10 Z.B. that I've had since I saw the light regarding Z.Bs. and a D10 Z.B. from a good forum buddy a while back. Last year I "latched" onto an old D10 Rogers that requires a little work - but three at this moment in time. Bob Mainwaring. Z.Bs. and other weird things. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() I have one. Even if I could afford it, I see no need for more. As far as "practice", I like to practice with the same equipment I'm going to work the gig with (including amp, effects, etc). If you practice with one setup and then use a different setup on the job it doesn't sound the same. |

![]() ![]() I have two Steels, I play out and practice on a Carter D10 and I have a Sho-Bud 'cause it's a piece of history. It's an old Professional D10 from around 73, I love playing it and looking at it. It's no different then having an old Fender or Gibson . When I look at the Sho-Bud it makes me think of the early Pedal Steel days and how Shot Jackson and Buddy and all the many great players , builders and contributors brought this Instrument to where it is today. Think about it, this Instrument is less than 50 years old. It's an amazing Instrument. TP [This message was edited by Tony Prior on 24 January 2002 at 02:28 AM.] |

![]() I have two guitars. Both are Kline U12's, and are both set up exactly the same. I practice and gig with one of them. The other has a desert scene air brushed on the front of it, and I use it for a "show gig" guitar. Both are 87's. I notice no difference or feel at all when going from one to the other. ![]() ![]() Want to know the real stats? Check out the survey results at www.mightyfinemusic.com , Ricky and I did a survey last year and you might find the results interesting. One thing is for sure, we all seem to want more than one steel guitar. Two-thirds of us have more than one and about 40% of us have three or more. What's more, two-thirds of all the guitars were bought used and only about 1/3 of all the guitars owned were built after 1990 -- that should give you some idea of how important the resale market is for steel guitars. ![]() ![]() I have two presently and neither one ofem is a Pedal Steel. 10 string Ricky lap steel and my Pops Double 8 Fender Stringmaster. Guess you could count the stringmaster as being a pedal steel because its got that Shot Jackson pedal rig on it. Rick |

![]() ![]() I have two but right now I play only on one of them. ShoBud ProII, thatīs the one, and Dekley SD-12 which is in the case now. I wouldnīt even think of using one for practicing and the other for playing out etc. because they are vastly different. It would make sense to use the ShoBud for more traditional, country stuff and the Dekley maybe for more rock-oriented things since it has kind of a more modern, "industrial" appeal and has room for more changes. If I either had enough space to set them up both or if I were playing in two different bands with very different styles. But right now I havenīt, and Iīm not. |

![]() ![]() I got two. My '82 (I think) Kline S-12, and the S-12 I built myself ("the steel"). Would LOVE to get an Anapeg, and I hear that Williams is now making a crossover, so would LOVE one of those-- but I can only play one at a time, so what I got will do. Winnie |

![]() ![]() Kline S-12, oak body, lacquer finish. I bought it in '78 after seeing Winnie play a Kline at a PSGA meeting. I also have a GES S-12. I get the impression that there's not too many GES steels out there. Also some non-pedal steels: a Fender Deluxe 8, an old Gibson 6-string lap steel, a Carvin S-8, and a Dobro. |

![]() ![]() I have ONE pedal steel (Carter D10) and it could be my last. I just love it. I have one amplifier, two almost identical Samick electric/acoustics, a Fender Strat, and a Fender Tele. Also, some h@rmonic@s. I wish to get a Fender Cyber-Twin, a Fender Bass, a fiddle, a b@nj0, and a Melobro. I really don't see a lot of need to get duplicate instruments. Lincoln |

![]() ![]() Since I started, 3. The Carter-Starter is long gone, replaced with a GFI Ultra S10. Doing the move to U12, now have a GFI S12. I think I will stick with 2, unless someday I can find a piece of history that needs a home. Oh, I forgot, I have a 6 string Multi Kord that no one seems to be able to tell me about, the thing is like brand new, even the case. |

![]() ![]() I once had a triple-8 Fender, the short body; replaced it with my Bigsby 4 x 8 with six pedals and added an early 70's dbl-10 Emmons w/standard pedal set-up. I also have 4 Rick Bakelite 6-strings; 2 Rick Bakelite 7-strings; and, a dbl-8 Rick on wood. Each has a sound all it's own. I have found the Ricks to be the easiest instruments I have ever played......accurate fretting; fabulous tone; and a unique "impact"..... |

![]() ![]() 59 Grestch BMI D-10 National D-8 Supor D-6 Supor 6 with Fender Lace pickup plus 6 other lap steels of various brands and descriptions, and can't play worth a darn. However I do carry a dual insurance policy for my guitars as well as Gregs. It has been an effective insurance company with no losses to date. Look in the Yellow Pages under COLT, SMITH & WESSON. |
