Bob is probably best known as a songwriter(collaborating with Eddie Miller, Buck Owens and Don Rich) and as a session player for Buck in the 60's. He also recorded for Challenge Records. Bob appears on the newly released "Buck Owens Ranch Show" video Vol # 3 in a duet with Faye Harden and an instrumental duet with Rich. I think Bob was married Faye. |

Bob died from the Big C in 1981. He and Faye got an award from the ACM, did reasonably well on the charts and so on. Bob was involved in several smaller CA labels, including Sundown (apparently he played fiddle on a single by CA bluegrassers the Kentucky Colonels in 1960), plus he played bass and guitar on sessions. He was also involved in Sammy Masters' Galahad label as well as his session work at Capitol and Challenge records. Bob and Faye were part of Merle Haggard's first even package show after he split from the Buck Owens package in 1968. |

I remember Bob very well, and his wife Faye. Nice people and fun to work with. "Jason, how in the heck can a guy like you, thousands of miles from SoCal, know so much about the pickers around here?" You constantly amaze me!" Also, Jerry Hayes has a memory like an elephant. I can't remember yesterday!  |

Hey Gary, Bob Morris wrote the Buck Owens theme song instrumental "Buckaroo". He was one great singer/songwriter for sure. I worked at the old Foothill Club for a while with a bassplayer/vocalist who said he was Bob's nephew by the name of Jimmy Lee Morris. Jimmy was also a good songwriter. I believe he's in Nashville now. I ran into him a few years back at Tootsie's working a single for tips but making a lot of money doing it. Jim Bob, what was that single which did pretty well around LA by Bob in the 60's. I think it was kind of a cajun sounding thing but I can't remember for sure. Gary, do your remember a guy named Sonny Anglin (I believe that's his name)? He came with Red Simpson to the NextTime Country as a guest when I was in the Eddy Drake band around 1980 or so. ------------------ |

Bob was a real good friend of my dads. I remember when I was young going over to Bob's house and him coming over to ours for jam sessions. My dad still talks about Bob sometimes and the fun they had. |

I think Bob also wrote Pitty Pitty Patter for Susan Raye. I saw him once on a show in Harrison Arkansas. He mentioned it. ------------------ |

I also remember Bob Morris.He was with the Eddie Miller band between 1954 and 1958. It's been a long time and I can't remember the exact dates.I was playing steel and Billy Ware was the drummer. I can't remember some of the other guys. That was at the Red Barn in Hawaiian Gardens.Bob was also with Johnny Lee Wills in 1953 in Tulsa, Okla |

Thanks to all of you for responding. I didn't know Bob passed on. I have a promotional 45 of Bob's on the Challenge label circa 1965 titled "Put Your Arms Around Him". It was pure honky tonk and a good one. Faye had a wonderful voice too. Jerry: I remember the name of Sonny Anglin but don't know anything about him.I bet Jason does though. Hopefully, he'll sign on again to this post. Besdt regards. |

I had the pleasure of working with Bob in the studio many times during my years in Bakersfield. He was a great guy and always had a knack for presenting an idea in the studio that allowed us to add our creative parts. He always had a calming effect in the studio and did a lot producing for Tony Booth, Susan Raye, Buddy Alan, David Frizell, and Freddie Hart. Thanks, |

I believe Bob Morris wrote "Made in Japan", which, I think, was Buck Owens' last #1 song, circa '72. |

BoB Morris . . . Married to Faye Harden, I sure do remember him well. Excellent player on Bass and guitar. Worked many a recording session with Bob at his Sundown Studios in Whittier, Ca, then known a Pico Rivera. Worked with his group at the Red Barrel in Artesia, Ca. GREAT GUY !
