I just happened to pass by the den while the kids were watching cartoons this evening. I heard some steel playing that just plain blew me away. I know of Gary Brandin and Sponge Bob...is this Gary also? The steel parts sounded like they were non pedal with really cool and fat volume swells at the end of the phrases...I gotta watch more cartoons. Tom Jordan |

Interesting topic, because about a year or so ago, while watching EE&E, there was a pedal steel at Ed's house (the place where everything is labeled), with a label saying "pedal steel guitar." I didn't hear any psg on the track though. I mentioned seeing this to Mike Judge. Many of you know of Mike Judge as the creator of "King of the Hill," and every parent's nightmare "Beavis and Butthead." Mike is an Austin resident and a pedal steel wannabe. He's taken a few lessons from Marty Muse and comes out to see the bands whenever possible. He is one cool guy, of course. His comment: "Pedal steel on Ed, Edd & Eddy? Far out, man!" ------------------ |

yeah, and it was in-your-face pickin' too. Rapid single note riffs with really fat-chord volume swells...the Eds were floating down the river on a boat and one of the little boogers was playing the steel guitar with his feet. It was....far-out! Tom Jordan |

You can hear the steel guitar work in question here. No idea who it is, but he or she is really good. |

Brad, That was it! How the heck did you find it? The thing I like the most is the player's tone. It would be interesting to find out just what guitar that is... Tom |

Wow! That sound clip is SO not me! What network shows this program? Watch the music credits at the end of the show. Then we can find the perp. |

Internet research reveals that Ed, Edd, & Eddy originates in a faraway country called British Columbia, in the prefecture of Vancouver. Email to the putative composer Patric Caird comes back undeliverable with a permanent error. |
