Doug,
that appears to be a "havana" guitar. I really don't know anything about them other than they were made in the 30's and 40's, and they're pretty neat to look at! I can't recall where or when I first saw one, but it has been YEARS!

This really is a beautiful instrument. Wish I had seen it before the auction ended. Could've saved the shipping $, as it's in LA LA land. Chas Smith might be familiar with it's pedigree, or lack of one.

The seller ended the auction and accepted no bids on the guitar. Someone posted that in another forum.
