Has anyone done evaluations and comparisons of the "Resolectraslide" from Fouke Industrial Guitars and the Road-O-Phonic from Beard for use on an electrified bandstand with drums? Are there feedback problems like with the Dobrolektric? Can they give a reasonably good Dobro resonator sound at volume? How about the Molonator resonator telecaster guitar from AU? Same questions?? |

You may have missed this: http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum2/HTML/005341.html I would love to try the Fouke. The R-O-P has both an electro magnetic pick up and a sensor pup. I have a Baggs mixpro which is a small belt clip unit that blends the two. I don't need a pre amp and have not had feedback problems. For convenience sake, and because I play casually, many times I'll leave the mixpro home. I get enough of a dobro sound plugged in without it. I also use compression sustain and fuzz as I mentioned in the other thread. I don't have the experience of playing with drums, unless outboard boat engines count as percussion. I've not had the pleasure of playing either guitar. Perhaps I should get them to send me one of each for review purposes! (Hasn't happened yet, but I can dream.) ------------------ Brad's Page of Steel A web site devoted to acoustic & electric lap steel guitars |
