A guy I've conversed with says he bought a Carvin double-neck with a 6 string and a 8 string. Interesting. Is it a Carvin?Carvin? 2nd view[This message was edited by Paul Osbty on 15 June 2004 at 01:43 AM.] |

Paul it could be a Carvin, but it would be pretty old. They used to make non pedal as well as pedal steels. The pedal steels were all cable operated. Man I cant remember how long that was ago. Back in the 50's I guess. Norm McDaniel Sierra U-12 and Peavey amps |

Kiesel Electronics was founded in 1946, and became "Carvin" (a combination of Lowell Kiesel's sons' names) in 1949.Kiesel guitars show up for sale on occasion. I had one of their Bakelite lap steels for a while -- a tough-looking plain black guitar with a forgettable pickup. ("I've known Rickenbackers, and I have worked with Rickenbackers.
