Whoops. Sorry, I didn't see the previous post.Looks like it didn't sell on the first round. It's an impressive piece of work, though. Wait a minute, where are all the Hawaiian steel surfboards? There must be some around. Oh yeah.... the water. Maybe not.

Exciting innovation! A few questions: How are the tone quality and pickups affected when the skateboarder traverses the third rail of subway systems? Is Tony Hawk willing to woodshed some tunes and endorse it? Can sole blocking and toe picks be mastered in a reasonable time frame? |

It's a high-concept instrument/transportation device. With a name like that, it should have 8 strings. |

Dan, I think "high" IS the operative word here. I saw this at the NAMM show in January. It was well thought out, and well made. I didn't plug it in as the sales guy (either cole or Clark) didn't seem interested in how it sounded and offered no demo. I did 'bunny hop' it over the low side curtain of their booth, catching a truck on the corner of the upright. I recovered nicely and the judges gave me a 7.9 for style and a 8.6 for degree of difficulty. All kidding aside, It's way too expensive for anyone to take seriously. After all it's just a novelty.item, and even Ben Harper fans aren't that 'High'. |

Loni, you're certainly right about the price. There's just something that feels wrong about riding one's axe. You don't spend hours practicing, tuning, tweaking and changing pickups just to fling it on the ground and risk damage. |

Glad to see another post on this as my original quickly vanished from the line up (how come?), and now can only be found in the archives. Thanx, to Jim for the plug above, and belatedly to Lee for providing the 'click here'.Anybody actually get to test run one yet? |
