It is my pleasure to announce Jim Heffernan's Dobro Workshop to take place on Sunday, May 1st at one of my store locations in NEW YORK CITY. I am thrilled to host this event. This will be a one day seminar.

As many of you know, Jim is one of the finest musicians and players of this insrument. More importantly, he has a great talent for teaching and imparting his knowledge to others.

I will be posting more information on Jim's seminar as I receive more information from Jim and as we work out some of the final details. There will be some additional "things" that will unfold and will be of interest to all.

The class will begin at 10am and continue 'til 5pm with a one hour beer, er lunch break. Jim provides cds & tab books.

My store is within walking distance from Grand Central Station, Penn Station, Port Authority, all subways, and the Panama Canal. I'm in close proximity to The Midtown Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel, and Queensboro (59th St.) Bridge.

Some tidbits of interest......

I'll have on hand a few Benoit Resonators for display and "gingerly" demos. I'll also have my Harmos steel with stand for all to check out.

Dan Balde will be in attendance with his Palm Pedal Dobro. It seems like Palm Sunday will fall twice this year. I'm anxious to see and try this.

Now, if there are any steelers who would be interested in taking this class but don't own a dobro, I can spot you one for the class. If you know anyone who would like to take the class but doesn't have one, don't let that be a deterrent. It can be remedied.
Please, only somone who doesn't own....not someone who doesn't want to bring theirs. Proof of non ownership will be required...

Yep, Sheriff Bob does indeed play a 7 string Beard. I seen it at The Baggot Inn. He heads up a bluegrass jam there every Wed evening. He told me that he tunes it G G B D G B D for bluegrass. Not a bad idea. I'd like to have a 12 string in that tuning. If I miss one string, I'm sure to hit it's unison. I would like to hear him play other styles though.
