I'm really curious of the main tunings used by Jules Ah See, back when he performed at the Tapa Room with Alfred Apaka.Could anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks! |

Jeff,I believe that Jules used various tunings. Here is one: G-6th - Em7th High to Low E D B G E D B G Aloha, Don

From the tapes I've heard, mostly the three classics: C13, "B11", and E13. Occasionally he would employ the "Cmaj7" which is basically a C6 kind of tuning with the top C dropped to a B. |

Is the E13 the same version as Barney Isaacs used, or is it different?I think it's: E C# G# F# E D B E I think my ears are hearing E13 when he takes those really swingin' solos....I mean really swingin! The live Alfred Apaka show was really something! It's my favorite!! I sure wish more recordings existed. |
