http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=621&item=7324544910&rd=1 Did Fender make different bridge nuts? I've only seen the adjustable ones with end points to hold the string covers. Ron |

Gene's reply was as follows: quote:
i knew the fella that owned this steel and he had changed the bridge and the nut and also had refinished it..he passed away and his grandson must have sold it to the music store..it's a great guitar but not original..Gene
I'd agree that although the parts are not original, it's a great looking guitar.------------------ Brad's Page of Steel A web site devoted to acoustic & electric lap steel guitars |

It seems somewhat similar to the mods Jerry Byrd had Fender do on his black S8... and it makes sense. To have a bridge attached to a piece of sheet metal screwed on top of a not all too flat piece of lacquered lumber defies all teachings a luthier ought to respect... still, thousands of Fenders came out just that way... I never understood it.... J-D.
