I'm proud of my "staggered" cast octagonal knobs. Thanks Harry D. ... I cut down the volume pot post and cast thinner knobs ... to keep them from bein' an obstruction while playin'. Gotta "tweak" a few things alittle more .. before I say Aloha to these ... and start workin' on my new line.
I'm very pleased with they way they came out ... ------------------ Aiello's House of Gauss My wife and I don't think alike. She donates money to the homeless and I donate money to the topless! ... R. Dangerfield

Rick, those dustpans with the MRI pickups sure do look nice. Outstanding workmanship. Great looking castings. I have one of Rick's MRI pickups in a guitar I just finished building out of wild cherry, and it sounds terrific. I am well pleased. Danny |

RICK, they are all beautiful, but I'm like some of the other guys; I want to know how they sound,do they stay in tune(temperature changes, etc.) One thing for sure; your persistence and determination have really paid off in ways money can't measure. Congratulations!!! They are all works of art! ~~W.C.~~ |

Thanks y'all ... Harry ... sleep deprivation ... I need to start trainin' for Joliet. Wayne ... a minor issue is keeping these from singing right now ... it'll be fixed soon. My prototype is still "king of the heap" for now ... same set-up ... just not as attractive. There are a few folks on the forum that have come by and played it ... and a whole convention full of folks that heard their older siblings ... As far as stayin' in tune ... they do pretty well as far as aluminum steels go. With aluminums specific heat capacity and their mass ... they have to absorb alot of heat energy to raise their temperature. ------------------ Aiello's House of Gauss My wife and I don't think alike. Hi Rick, They look awesome. What is the scale length and are the frets machined in?

They are 22.25" scales ...For the frets ... I hack-sawed in the slots ... filed off the tangs on jumbo fret wire ... and set them in with methyl cyanoacrylate and steel filled epoxy (on the ends). I don't have a milling machine ... so everything gets done with hand tools and files ... Hand Hewn Steel Guitars ... ha, ha ------------------ Aiello's House of Gauss My wife and I don't think alike. Rick, you are getting seriously good on the finish work! I thought it was awesome enough that you could just cast a frypan-shaped lump of aluminum in the first place. These are just too much -- are you sure you are charging enough money for them? |

Thanks y'all ...Kris ... The sides and back have the same "finish" as the pan ... I worked harder on the fretboard ... as far as luster ... Jack ... quote: are you sure you are charging enough money for them?

"I'm having enough trouble just giving them away"------- I can help you solve that problem of giving them away----In that case just give me two. :-) Seriously those are really something to be very proud of. I don't think you will have any trouble with people wanting to buy them. |
