This looks like the Guitar that was once with Nick Manscalico from San Diego,

If so I've Played it and it is awesome.

The Deal With the 10 - 8 string is so that the player can do a pull-off to the open and a push-on from open and have a little more space to not hit your hand against the tuner keys.

George, you are correct. I bought this guitar from Nick, who I met at the Dallas show. This was three years ago.

Nick moved from Ca. to Id. I haven't seen him in a couple of years. I hope he is ok.

I Bought my 1st lap -- Magnatone from Nick in 1994 - since then he has had a servere Stroke and Diabities, we became great friends and he was my 2nd endorser of the GB D8 Consoles my 1st was George Benson --Jazz Guitar Star who via , Henry Allen of the Hawaiian Music Institute of Maui sponsered my effort to build consoles and received the original D8 KOA Console in Lahaina.

Nick is -- was -- an awesome player and Collector of Rare Steels including a T-8 Bigsby
