CMT the country music TV channel is playing a 30 minute special called "Van Morrison: One Night in Nashville". His latest disc "Pay the Devil" is country based. I caught the show which is 5 songs and some interviews with Van. Very nice!

According to my Tivo guide the show will be replayed 3 times tomorrow and that's it for the short term. It says it will be on at 6:30am; 2:30pm and 8:00pm. Check your local listings in case the timing is different. That's for Sunday May 7, 2006.

Cindy seems to be featured more than any other musician (and there are a lot of them.) She's playing an aooustic resonator and a 2 neck Stringmaster.

They did a couple of small club shows in my area before the tour started. I found out about them the day after they played. Oh well... at least I caught them on TV.

I just got done watching the show.
Cindy's work on the Stringmaster and Dobro were exceptional! I must say that I am NOT a fan of Van Morrison but his assembly of players, singers was top notch.

There are several nice shots of Cindy with some good close-ups. It is worth watching.

Cindy is even sporting some "new jewelry"

I too am not a big Morrison fan, but I agree that Cindy was a pleasure to hear and watch. Thanks for the heads up.

I, on the other hand, LOVE Van Morrison, so it'll be a real treat for me; however, the CMT in Canada didn't seem to be broadcasting it. I'll have to keep my eyes open or wait for someone to YouTube it.

In case you can't make it to the TV program, there is some snippets of Cindy playing with Van Morrison on CMT and a solo piece at:

http://www.cmt.com/shows/dyn/van_morrison_one_night_in_nashville/series.jhtml

Just click videos - Playhouse.

Aloha,
Don

It must detect regions and not want to play to Canadians. Don't laugh, that actually happens. Something to do with broadcast rights.

In any event, I'm looking forward to seeing this whenever it becomes available to me.

We do a lot of Van's stuff every night,
and our singer is a huge Van fan.
I got the new CD and have yet to hear it... Rick won't give it back!

~Cindy playing in mucklucks, a balaklava,
a bernous and a veil would still be worth watching.

I clicked on that link and went to Playhouse, but the only video that played is a Listerine commercial!

One of my ALL TIME favorite players!

Does anyone know what tunings Cindy uses on that Stringmaster?

Yes Nick; Cindy uses regular C6th with high G on the back neck...and Leon's E13 on the front neck.
It's great to hear all these kind words about my "Future Ex-wife"..ha.

Bill,

The commercial comes first, then it loads to Cindy and Van Morrison.

Try again, you will like it.
