Hello all. I'm working late tonite getting ready for Loni's Amp Show thang on Saturday. I wanted to show some photos in case any of you are interested in stopping by on Saturday. I now have both 6 and 8 string models.

These are the "Outlaws", the last horseshoe pickups built by Jason and Rick. The 6er's have the Turner horseshoe and both pickups sound beautiful.

Come by and play these babies. You won't be sorry.

You can view photos of new CruzTone models here.

Howdy, This is the second year in a row that I debuted new model guitars at Loni Spector's Amp Show in Van Nuys. I had a great time showing off my new steels to all the LA players and Forum members. Thanks to all of you who showed up and gave me encouragement. Here are the best of my photos to date

Hi Colin,
Had a great time hangin' wit ya! If I didn't make steels, I'd buy one of your's. That anodized aluminum looks so great. And according to Mike Johnstone they sound even better.
Thanks for being part of the festivities.
Keep the faith,

Loni,
You put on such a great show. Some of the top names in both mainstream and boutique manufacturing. The level of musical geekdom was in the stratosphere.

The guitar I built for Mike Ruffin was actually touched by Billy Gibbons. Sorry Mike, I didn't get that photo. But I did get to hear Al Vescovo on MR's axe. Al is such a fabulous player, and a totally mellow and sweet guy.

Hey Colin

Billy Gibbons!! WOW!! I'm from Houston originally. Back in 1967 Billy Gibbon's and his band, "The Moving Sidewalks" played at our high school Valentine's dance. I was the MC and got to introduce them. They were great then and soon after that they became "ZZ Top". I went to Westbury HS and he went to Robert E. Lee. My younger sister had a major crush on him.

Rick, the blue one is mine. Isn't it awesome? I can't wait to get it. Colin says it is a tone monster!

Colin:
Great to see you again. Those are some mighty fine geetars you're makin' there! I'd recommend anyone looking for an axe to consider the Cruztones, unless of course, you favor guitars with no sustain or tone! These are monsters--on all accounts!

Stopped by Colin's place after work yesterday and got to play the blue 8 string for a couple minutes.

Wow! I was blown away with the tone and sustain of this guitar. It was extraordinary in both departments.

As I told Colin, it had better sustain than my Stringmaster, Asher, or Ric Bakelite.

Mike, you are going to LOVE this guitar.

I got the black 8-string and this thing is awesome. I think Colin has pix of that one too. I dragged Billy Gibbons down to Colin's room to check them out. He said he liked what he heard and saw and that's saying something because Billy's such a vintage freak. He was on a tight schedule and didn't get to play one at length - but there's plans to have him check mine out soon. Greg Leisz came over to the studio and we compared it against my Stringmasters thru a Steel King amp - he too is knocked out. I love my Stringmasters but this thing easily holds its own and has its own distinctive voice and vibe. The CruzTone doesn't sound like a pedal steel like some of the new crop of high-end non-pedal guitars. It's gonna be wonderful for Sacred lap steel stuff and if the Hawaiian guys ever get a hold of one they're gonna shed their Canopus,Fenders and Excels. They also rock when driven hard so all you Harper/Lindley freaks listen up. This is one serious world class steel guitar.

I played the blue one totally clean, Hawaiian style. It had a gorgeous tone in this setting and as Mike points out, it did not have a pedal steel sound at all (a good thing in my opinion).
