Impressive, flashy and rhythmic. But honestly, how many of these tunes can you listen to in a row? ------------------ Gerald Ross 'Northwest Ann Arbor, Michigan's King Of The Hawaiian Steel Guitar' CEO, CIO, CFO - UkeTone Records Gerald's Fingerstyle Guitar Website Board of Directors Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association |

Approximately 50% of one tune. I like tapping best when it's integrated into standard technique and becomes yet another color. I'm impressed with the Kaki Kings of the world but it does seem like a blind alley. |

Absolutely wonderful! So much talent out there. Many of whom would pass on wedding gigs. Thanks for posting the link Andy-started my day off right.[This message was edited by Matt Johnson on 07 August 2006 at 08:18 AM.] |

I'm not saying the guys untalented. He definitely has talent. But I see that style as pretty much a one-trick-pony.And there's nothing wrong with wedding gigs. ------------------ Gerald Ross 'Northwest Ann Arbor, Michigan's King Of The Hawaiian Steel Guitar' CEO, CIO, CFO - UkeTone Records Gerald's Fingerstyle Guitar Website Board of Directors Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association [This message was edited by Gerald Ross on 07 August 2006 at 08:20 AM.]

I dunno people could say similar of steel if they didn't know better. "it's all about sliding"Do a google on Chapman stick. Pretty amazing stuff. They play melody, bass lines AND chord voicings. Pianistic. To me the tapping technique is as interesting as the song/melody/voicings you utilize with it. After all the melody is the thing. |
