Don't like to take out of the house as it's in pristine condition but this was a cool event. There are 2 songs and will upload 3rd with my Gibson BR6.

Good job Marc, good oscillation of bar, and even some good Hawaiian licks (bar on off stuff). Rick's always sound great.

Aloha,
Don

Here's the other one on the Ric. Bummer about the delay of the audio. Any way to fix that?

Great playing Marc.

What is your Frypan tuning on the second song?

Thanks! Same on both. Started with C6 then thought I invented something cool by making low string C# instead only to find out someone smarter than me invented that years ago. C# - E - G - A -C - E.

Cool stuff, Marc-- we don't see enough skilled and imaginative lapsteel playing outside of the Hawaiian, Western swing and blues/rock styles. Keep on keepin' on....

Last one I promise. Will be posting 6 string guitar songs from that show on my youtube page. All of these are through a Fender hot rod deville with no effects. Amp distortion and reverb only. Thanks for listening.

Nice, Marc! I'm all for more jazz lap steel; some smooth licks in there.

Man, if that old Ric could only talk, just think of what it might relate to us....

"Hey, I'm 72 years old and started out life in 1934 playing sweet Hawaiian music, and now I'm really groovin' it in 2006 playing some cool jazz!"

Great stuff Marc!

Hi George,
At what age did you start playing Hawaiian music?
If you're 72 now, that means you were born in 1934.

Well done, Marc. I love the tone of that old Ricky. Are you going to the PSGA Show in November?

Very nice playing Marc, and cool tone to boot. Do me a favor and get an A-B box, all that plugging and unplugging, you make me nervous. Let us know when you are playing around, I'd make the drive to see you.

Hey stranger, I loved that tune (Labor Day) the first time I heard it years and years ago. Still sounds great as do you.
Send me an e-mail.

Thanks again for the kind words. No plans on attending the steel guitar event mentioned, though I did go to one in Nashville this past April, I think, and was blown away to find me sitting at the table with Mr Emmons and Mr Hughey! Wish I could get to play out more but tough to get a gig playing this kind of stuff! Currently working on a follow up CD to my 97 "American Home Cooking". For the new one I was able to get Victor Wooten on bass and Rod Morgenstein on drums. Man, they're good! Hey my old friend Mike! Will give you a shout.

I've posted more songs from that show, however I am playing my tele on the rest. But if interested just hit the "more from this user" or "playlist" tab on the middle right of any of the songs posted above.
