Nice to meet you Ron and I know how you felt because it brings back a great memory of my first gig about 24 years ago.My Grandmother who had hated the fact that I played in "Beer Joints" as she refered to them actually came out and listened to me play Apartment #9.I have had a lot of fun over the years meeting a lot of nice people and I hope you do too. ------------------ Cops aren't paid much so I steel at night.[This message was edited by Dick Wood on 04 July 2005 at 11:21 AM.] |

Ron, I got to play my first steel gig a few weeks ago thanks to the patience of Larry King, who invited me to sit in with his group. I had a blast also, and I apologize to Larry and the boys for the "clunkers". It was still a great learning experience. I have since ordered a much better steel, and plan on doing a lot of woodshedding. Yes, I'm afraid this "steel narcotic" has hooked me, and I'm its slave for the rest of my life. Good luck, and hope you play a lot more gigs. Perhaps someday we'll get to jam together at a steel show or something. All the best for your success. Michael in Eureka |
