The first one shows what REALLY goes on when we get together. Thanks to Don Scott for the photos.

Can anyone caption one of the group shots so we can put faces with names? |

Ya, I'd like that too. I notice Jay Dee Maness but most of the faces I can't name. |

The one thing I noticed about Jay Dee is that he's 10 years older than me and looks 5 years younger! How'd he do that? |

Here is my attempt to put names to faces. This list go's with the 1st group shot. From the left; Kneeling 1 - Don Scott - hawian shirt 2 - Skip Edwards - checkered shirt 3 - Billy Easton - gray shirt 4 - Craig Ferguson - only playing for a year and doing a good job! 5 - Al Viscovo - Leaning on Billy Easton. Standing - from the left. 6 - Hank Mann - yellow striped shirt 7 - John Walden - white shirt 8 - Big Jim Baron - behind John Walden, red suspenders! 9 - Frank Carter - black shirt. 10 - Jimmy Eaton - Levi Vest over a Grateful Dead shirt!!! 11 - David Wright - yes he did play all day in those sandals! 12 - Mike Perlowin - aka Perl-Jam King! 13 - Jim Ives - Blue/black shirt. 14 - Phil Cannon - behind Jim Ives 15 - Jim Palenscar - way in the back row, blue shirt. 16 - Chas Smith - next to Jim P. back row. 17 - John McDuffie 18 - John McClung - red shirt. 19 - Jay Dee. If I got anyone wrong, sorry and if anyone can fill in any I missed, go for it. Mike thanks for posting the great pictures. Looks like a good bunch of guys to pick with. I know Frank Carter had to play "My Weakness is Too Strong"". He does such a great job on that one. |

more names: #4: Craig Ferguson (not quite sure of the last name); only playing a year, real strong, confident player, even tackled jazz standards by reading the chart on the wall...and on a Carter Starter, which he made sound great! Nice going, Craig. #17: world renowned John McDuffie, one of the town's best guitarists and steelers, played his new Sho-Bud 12-string ext E9 that day. One omission: I think the gent's name is Phil, to Perlowin's left; grey shirt, beard, plays a Sierra. ------------------ [This message was edited by John McClung on 08 May 2006 at 09:08 PM.] |

That would be Phil Cannon. Phil is also an outstanding classical guitarist and (B word) player. Interestingly, he plays 4 and 6 string (B words), but not a 5 string, and he plays ragtime rather than bluegrass. ------------------ |

Of course, the B word would be...balilika? I'm sure I misspelled that!

Hey guys. Thanks for posting those great photos. I sure had a good time and learned a lot just listening to all the great players. Thanks and see you next year! |

Again, I have to say ho sorry I am that I got roped into work and had to miss it. I really wanted to meet everyone and make a feeble attempt at playing my 400 for a change-of-pace. I WILL find a way to make the next one, and hopefully connect with some of the local folks before that. Jim |
