This particular JCH is the last guitar that Jimmie Crawford built and assembled himself.
It is the black mica 10/12 guitar that he built for Buddy Emmons. A 10 string E-9 and 12 string C-6,,,E-9 being the outside neck. It has 9 floor pedals and 10 knee levers. It is in absolute and perfect mint condition including the custom case built for it. All metal, even the undercarriage and pedals, are highly polished. It is an outstandingly beautiful guitar.
To my knowledge, once Buddy took the guitar home, it never left his house until I packed it in the case and brought it to my house, where it is now.
I am selling this guitar for Buddy and all inquiries must go through me. Any and all questions about this guitar will be answered to the best of my ability.
There are several pictures already on the Forum of this guitar if you would like to see what it looks like.
This was and is Buddy's personal JCH,,,what more need I say.
Please,,,,only serious inquiries.
You can contact me by telephone at 281-856-9453 or by email at bobbybow@swbell.net and I will be glad to address any questions pertaining to the guitar and business transactions and arrangements.
Thanks in advance,
BB

Buddy used this guitar on Laney Hicks' recording of "Unamed Shuffle/A Love Like This" through the Fender "Steel King" amplifer. There were pictures posted on the Forum by Bob Knight taken at the session.

Hey, Bobby, if you want to have whoever ends up with this guitar contact me, I would be happy to send them a copy of the last interview I did with Jimmy, where he talks extensively about the whole process of buildig this guitar. There was a lot involved! There's information the new owner would really like to have, I'm sure.

that question crossed my mind also, however I would be more interested in where the changes wound up on that guitar. Ernie Renn has the E9 tuning as of the end of '04 listed on his site and I would like to know if Buddy left them like that as well as what he wound up with on that 12 string C6 neck. Would you be willing to forward those to b0b or Ernie?

Hi to all,
Me just being sort of a "middle man" in this transaction, I probably had better leave some of the answers to Buddy himself. Not meaning to cut anyone short, but I don't want to put my words into Buddy's mouth, so to speak. I hope everyone understands my position about this matter.

In the past year I’ve sold a D-10 Legrande, S-12 Sierra, and the 10/12 –JCH. No particular reason for selling any of them other than I was up to my ears in guitars, doing limited work, and wanted to make a few flat spots available to put other things in my music room.

My only regret was selling the Sierra. It’s has been my favorite C6 guitar but I rarely played it so I felt I had no use for it. When I plugged it into the Fender Steel King for the first time to demonstrate the sound to the buyer, I was blown away by the tone of the steel/amp combination and needless to say, was sorry to see it go.

My friend, Bobby Bowman went the extra mile and then some to find a replacement for the Sierra and did a wonderful job setting it up for me from scratch and bringing it to Nashville during the fourth of July Jam here in Nashville. I’ve affectionately dubbed it the “Blue Dumplin” in honor of my long time compadre, the late Jimmy Day. Now that I have the replacement I hope to be spending a little more time with it strictly for pleasure.

Bobby does such good work on guitars, I gave him the JCH with the intention of finding a buyer and doing the necessary conversions, but the gentleman who bought it wanted it as it was originally built.

I’m down to a Legrande, the S-12 Sierra gearless loafer model, and the Blade. My next job is in September and I’m looking forward to it.

I might add too,,,that the project for the "Blue Dumplin" would have never happened if it were not for the graciousness of Dan Burnham and the generosity of Tom Baker. Thanks Dan and Tom.

There must be a great story to the title "Blue Dumplin" do you feel like sharing?

Bill, my best guess the "Blue Dumplin'" is a take-off on Jimmy's guitars being called "Blue Darlin'".
