I don't know if these names have been brought up on the forum before, but does anyone know the whereabouts, (or a little history) on: -Jay McDonald, who played on a couple of Buck Owen's albums between Ralph Mooney & Tom Brumley; -'Carrot-Top' Anderson, who apparantly played with Bob Wills....lived in British Columbia for a while...don't know where he is now? Thanks, Al Brisco

Smiley, Carrot-Top did work for Bob Wills. I saw a clip from a movie that Wills was in and the group was playing "San Antonio Rose" and Carrot-top was doing the Steel whork. Also FWIW, he composed a steel instramental called "This Is The Southland". I think Speedy West and Jimmy Bryant did it on one of their albums.------------------ kd...and the beat goes on...

Les "Carrot Top" Anderson absolute did work with Bob Wills playing steel guitar and did some singing also. His son Jimmy Anderson passed away two years ago. He lived in Las Vegas and his wife Lynn has continued to attend the Dallas Steel Guitar Show. I wanted to play his tune; "This is the Southland" and it completely slipped my mind in Dallas. Maybe this coming show.
