![]() ![]() over the last 10 years I have owned three Boss TU-12 tuners.Everyone stops working, and it seems to be either the slider switch,or the input jack.I have had one in my studio for the last two years on a shelf, plugged into my mixing board, and it just quit working.Sometimes it goes on by itself.I have tried it with an AC.adapter, and a 9 volt battery, but it still gets weird.Has anybody else had this problem with this model tuner??? |

![]() ![]() My AT12 quit the other day. I did the usuall cursing at it, then removed the 4 AA batteries and bent the contact tabs out a little to give better contact. End of my problem. It was just fatigue from the batteries being in for a while and the possible jarring that occures durring normal handling. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() I've had a TU12H for about 5 or 6 years and have not had any problems with it. If it starts acting flakey, I change the battery and it's back to "normal". |

![]() ![]() Had mine(TU-12H) for 7+ years, and no probs, other than the inability to run it in-line when it's turned on. Seems to distort the signal. One of these days I'll fix it *L* ------------------ |

![]() ![]() I Bought mine in California about 15 1/2 years ago and it's still working great. The AC adapter plug went bad about 10 years back but it still operates great on the battery. I still wish I had my old Korg tuner though, it was a lot easier to see and use except for having to change the knob for every string. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() I still use a Korg WT-12. It's about 20yrs (?) old and still works. You can temper tune by tuning the G#s and Bs with the note selector knob set on E and bring the needle to 0 setting. The other notes have to be dialed in with the note selector knob and tempered with the minus hz settings. DD [This message was edited by Dennis Detweiler on 08 January 2000 at 08:37 AM.] |

![]() ![]() Stu, Yes, I've experienced the exact same problem. For one reason or another, they seem to last about three or four years for me. I've never really gave it much thought, just accepted it and learned to expect it. I still like them though. -- Marc |

![]() ![]() I have sold about 24 of the TU 12's and only had one bad from new. I dropped(again)my personal TU 12 last night and it split in half with the battery and circuit board flopping in the breeze. I snapped it all back together and it works fine. ------------------ www.pedalsteel.net [This message was edited by Bruce W Heffner on 09 January 2000 at 06:22 AM.] |

![]() ![]() Hey Stu, I use the same tuner and it was acting strange for awhile. I took the casing apart and noticed the connections from the input jacks to the circuit board plus the connections from the slider switch to the circuit had both broken loose. If you're handy with a soldering gun you can resolder the connections. I did it with mine and it helped the problem. It's still not perfect but I bought it used at lest 15 years ago. I also sprayed some solvent on the slider switch and at first it made it harder to switch but after working it for a few minutes it loosened up and works fine. Hope this helps, Dave |
