I think Doug Beaumier (dougbsteel.com) has it tabbed out in E-9 in one of his courses.

I don't know the chords, but there are 2 great steel guitar recordings of the song. One by Maurice Anderson on he "Steel and Brass" album, and the other by the late Tommy Roots on his "Uptown Downtown" recording.

Dave, I know the chords to Stardust and most of the old big band songs. The way I used to play it, the first three chords on the pickup were Bdim,Cdim,C#dim going to Dmi7, then FMaj7,( I use Fmaj7 but there are subsitute chords that can be used instead.) then Fmi, Dmi7,(this is in the key of C by the way) I could tab this out just like I would play it on tape and a lot of others, but it is just too time consuming for this old man and at my age, time is precious. As was mentioned, there are a lot of sources out there for these things. A lot of good courses and tab, rythm tracks , etc. Jeff Newman, Herby Wallace, and many others..
So, take your choice, they are all good..al

"Stardust" written by Hoagy Carmichael was declared around 1993 to be the song of the century! It was felt that NO song would be able to catch it in the number of recordings or sales, and the prediction held. I am particularly fond of Herby Remington's version on steel guitar. My favorite version of all time is by Nat King Cole.

Good for you Wayne. Herb Remington is one of the good old pros. Have you heard his "on the alamo"(Alvino Rey did in 1940) and his "My Buddy" It really swings. (Alvino Rey did that too in 1940) Herb is a great Artist. You also mentioned one of my favorites, Nat King Cole, a fine singer, and a great piano stylist. It wouldn't hurt to listen to music played by other instrumentalists than steel some of the time..al

I have a version of Stardust by Leon McAuliffe that's really good. I think it was recorded in the early 60s.

Al, I agree with you. Herby is one of the alltime greats. Check out the song he recorded and wrote in the late 1950's,"Sweetnin'". He told me that he was paid $500 to do the album and at the end the producer told him he needed one more song, so he wrote it on the spot! I think it is the best on the album!

Let's not forget Tom Morrel's version which can be found on one of the Time Warp Tophands CDs (I have so many of them that I can't remember the volume numbers anymore)

Looks like nobobdy posted those changes yet, so here is a simple way to play the chorus in its usual key of D flat.

Gb ... | .... | Gbm ... | .... |
Db ... | Fm .Bb7. | Ebm..Bb7| Ebm ...|
Ab7... | Ab7.Ab+5.| Db ... | .... |
Eb9... | .... | Ab.Ebm7.|Ab7.Db7.|
Gb ... | .... | Gbm ... | .... |
Db ... | Fm. Bb7. | Ebm..Bb7| Ebm... |
Gb ... | Gbm ... | Db ... | Fm ... |
Gb ... | Ab7 ... | Db. Gb. | Db ... |

The recorded version that I know and love is Tommy Dorsey's band with the Pied Pipers and boy singer Frank Sinatra.
