Does anyone know where Ray Gantek lives now? He's a fine player from the New England states and I haven't seen him for awhile.

Last I heard Ray was living in Westport, CT and running a recording studio. That was about 10 years ago. I haven't heard anything about him in a long time.

Last I heard, about 2 weeks ago, he is in the Datona Beach/Jacksonville Fl area. Prior to that he had been working at an Opry show just south of Ocala Fl.

I ran into Ray at a jam that I do in Lake Panasoffkee last spring. He's still playing his white 69 Emmons PP.

Used to enjoy listening to Ray in the early '80's at O'Lunney's in NYC. Played a purty white Emmons D-10.

By a little different stroke of luck a band in Myrtle Beach some twenty years ago offered him a job,we know he did not take it,why? It was Alabama. Ray is a super player.

O'LUNNYS, one of my favorite C&W nigh club in Manhattan back in the 1974-80s. Met lots of pedal steelers and the beer was always cold. Parking was a nightmare but it was worth the two hour trip from Flushing-Queens on a Saturday night that's if a yellow taxi did'nt crash into you. Another great C&W night spot was the, Blue Ribbin Inn somewhere in N.J. where one would meet "Freddy the German Cowboy". Then off to Huntington, L.I. to the Stage Coach Inn, home of the P.S.G.A. Then there was Jabbys out on Rt 110, L.I. Can't forget the O.K. Corral in Flushing, use to be called the Top Hat. Then there was this place in..........................

About Ray, I saw him play at one of the P.S.G.A. shows in Armonk N.Y. about 8 years ago, I even have him on cassette tape live. Then in 1997 I saw him at the New Symnia Beach, Florida show, again I taped him.

Ray's rhythm track titled "What I Did Last Summer" is one of the best produced rhythm tracks I have run across.
