Junior Martin..... one of the most talented steel guitarist I've had the pleasure of working with. Junior from way down there in south Louisianna is the consumate "Cajun" steel guitarist and his portion of the Dallas show was simply "awesome". I think Buck Grantham mentioned Junior in another post, but I'd be remiss if I didn't follow up. This great player is also the proud owner of a very beautiful and unique, one of a kind, gold plated Pedalmaster steel guitar. All of the parts, moving and stationary are gold plated. The fret board is also unique in that the fret position indicators are "red crawfish" in true cajun style. Hopefully, those of you who were in Dallas, had the good fortune to hear Junior and the great cajun band he had working with him and experience a small bit of the cajun flavor he plays so well. Both Junior and his guitar are well worth the look and listen.

Yes , Junior Martin is a very good player. He has been playing Louisiana Cajun music for many years. How about his (gold plated) Pedal Master Steel Built by ROY THOMAS and finished by Junior himself. He is also a great French Accordian builder Too. He built the accordian that was played on his show. And besides that he's a super nice person. I would like to see him back on the show next year!!!!!!!!

Right-on Roy Rosetta. Junior, a true cajun picker. He made St. Louis in '86 & '87, Dallas in 2000, Hammond, Knoxville and hopefully more of Dallas. So, “keep them cards and letters coming.”

His "Gold" Pedalmaster is one of a kind. Just like the older GM cars, "Body by Fisher." Look on his guitar, you will see, "Body by Martin Accordions" as the wood body was made in his accordion factory. A great craftsman! Pretty good golfer too, he says.

He is my neighbor down the street but we are always too busy to visit, that is, except in Dallas. But “Maybe Tonight”, which is PeeWee Whitewing’s monthly country show in Crowley, Louisiana.

And now for a brief commercial... We will ride with Junior & Patsy, see and hear PeeWee, Roy Rosetta, Lisa Boudreaux, Rufus Thibodeaux and many other talented musicians. Last but not least, a real young one and you guessed it, Jeneé Keener, the Fiddlist. If you are within range, don’t miss this show.

I visited with Mr. Roy Thomas today, He is the Pedalmaster owner/builder and great supporter of this industry. As it was announced at the Dallas Jamboree, he had a health problem last week which kept him from making the show. It turned out to be a medicine conflict and he will be okay, already in the shop.

I agree, Dallas was the first time I heard Jr Martin. Cajun steel is great. I hope he will be back next year. By the way Mr. Buck, I really enjoyed your sets in Dallas, especially Sunday Morning. I play in church every week. Steel guitar just adds something to good gospel music. And to Roy and the Band in Dallas, Another superb year, you guys and gal never cease to amase with your talents.

I didn't get to meet Junior at the Dallas show, but Roy showed me the Golden Steel at St Louis...what a work of art!! The gold is 24k instead of the usual 14k. If I owned it I'd be afraid to take it out of the house...
