Hi Guys and Dolls,

I heard that Charley Pride made the Country Music Hall of Fame. Congratulations Mr. Pride, you deserve it! Good to see a bonifide Country Singer get an award.

I for one have been a Charley Pride fan since I first heard Big Joe Talbot playing the Hawaiian Steel Guitar behind him on a song titled "Gone On THe Other Hand," and all the other great steel work by Lloyd Green and Gene O'Neal. I know there were others who picked steel for Charley. It's nice to see him get this award while he's still alive!

God Bless You All!

Charley Pride so richly deserves this honor. Joe Wright was also a Charley Pride steel player. Faron Young will also be inducted this year. Faron Young's steel players reads like a "Who's Who" of steel guitar players.I can only hope that the C.M.A. will one day let bygones be bygones and induct Webb Pierce into the Hall of Fame. After all, he introduced the PEDAL STEEL GUITAR into country music on a song called "Slowly" featurinf Bud Isaacs on pedal steel. Jody.

I too have been a big fan of Charley Pride's music. Lloyd Green's playing on Charley's recordings, particularly the "Live at Panther Hall" album, was awesome.

And, let's not forget Ronnie Miller, Charley's current steel player. If you haven't heard Ronnie, you owe it to yourself to do so. He is one fine player and he's also a super nice guy.

They should have put Charlie Pride in the Hall of Fame 20 years ago for getting Lloyd
to play on that "Live at Panther Hall" album.

I picked steel with Charlie Pride in 1977-in between Gene O'Neil and Joe Wright.Charlie is a gentleman and a class act.I would have thought he'd make the HOF years ago...... -MJ-
