Probably the closest steel guitar shop is Blackie's Music in Riverside (Chino is in Southern California; Tom Bradshaw is in Northern California).
Blackie Taylor Music

Dennis:

Tom doesn't really have a "Store". He has lots of inventory, but he's mailorder.

If you happen to be in the Concord area, call him ahead of time and I'm sure he will be more than happy to see you, tho.

I live in San Bernardino, about 12 miles from Blackies. Blackie is about 20 miles East of Chino, Off the 60 FWY through Ontario. Take the Valley View Offramp in Rubidoux (Just West of Riverside) then Take Rubidoux blvd about 1 mile East. Blackie's store is a converted residence. You'll have to watch close not to miss it. It is on the right side of Rubidoux Blvd as you are going East. It is Grey in color. Hope this helps.

Sorry to hear that, but if you're there you're close to Blackie Taylor as Jim Bob said. However, I exit the 60 Fwy. at Valley WAY, make a right and a quick left on Mission Blvd. Go about 2 miles on mission to 5950 Mission(an old house). It's a very small shop and steels on hand are limited. GFI and Emmons I think. Blackie's a nice guy and knowledgable. Hours are like Noon to 5:30? Ph. (909)686-4010. Next closest steel shop is in Bakersfield...too far away.

Noon to 6:30, at least that's what is on his card.
I've never dealt with Blackie in a business sense, but he is a great guy and as genuine a person as you'll ever meet.
I belive he has an internet page, which is basically a online business card. I think it's linked to the forum, go to the links page and it should have Blackie's details {which have already been posted here} as well as his email contact.

Blackie's shop is actually very close to Chino. Maybe 10-15 minutes away at the most. I have to pass through Chino on my way to his shop.

Hey Dennis,
Try Blackie at btmusic@earthlink.net. He's a good guy and you'll like him. He's got a lot of good war stories, and expertise when it comes to steel. He's also got a lot of good photographs on his wall. He's got one of a show he had at his old store with me playing bass with the big E on steel. He won't let me have it and when I used to live there I'd try to steal it every chance I got but he watched me like a hawk................
