I'm trying to locate a steel player who
played around NYC in the late 70s. Harvey
was a killer picker who played steel on
Broadway in "Best little Whorehouse in Texas" back then.
Also, if anyone from the NYC area reads this and is looking for a steel player "I need a weekend gig!".

Around 5 years ago,I ran into "The Harvellster" in Vegas and we used to occasionally go see each other pick when we had different nights off.As far as I know,Harvey's still living and playing in Las Vegas.

Harvey Shapiro did one of the early workshops for the Pedal Steel Guitar Association back in the '70's. He had quite a steel playing career in NYC at the time, as did Hank De Vito. I'm happy that he's still picking in Vegas. Hope to look him up in October when I'm out that way.
