I was playing an old cassette the other day while tooling down the highway and heard some really fine songs by Moe Bandy, never a favorite of mine, but all of a sudden I was a dedicated fan. On one song, "Home in San Antone"...he called out Wendall Myrick on steel. Yet, on several others, there are definite sounds like the GREAT JOHN HUGEY! In fact, last night on the GAITHER RELIGIOUS Show, the steel man that I never got a chance to see and identify, sounded very much like Mr. Hughey. Anyone in the know on either of these two items? I'm quite interested. T'anks.

To my knowledge, Weldon has played on most of Moe's stuff. I think Lloyd may have played on some as well.------------------ The Young Steelkid

weldon is absolutely one of the best ever...check out reba's first few albums before she left the country.......and no one can play fast, constant fiddle lines like weldon did every week for years and years on the opry......speaking of reba--one of the best country tunes ever---red roses, won't work now....

I don't know who played on Moe's albums... but I know who got his bus...After an errant 18 wheel Gravel Truck totaled our last Silver Eagle In Oregon in June we have ended up with a beautiful '82 Eagle that used to belong to Bandy. I'd love to hear from anyone in the band with good bus stories...the weird part- the name of this bus is "Mo". The name of our wrecked bus- "Larry". Please don't tell me we have to wreck this one to get to "Curly"...------------------ Mark van Allen-"Blueground Undergrass" Pedal, Non-Pedal, Lap, and Dobro

Charlie Vaughn used to work for Mo. Perhaps he can tell you some bus stories.

Hey Mark,I was in Moe's Band when we got that bus. He bought the shell brand new from Eagle and the road manager drove it straight to Vulcan coach in Alabama to be converted. They cut the top and raised it about 8" as I remember. Before that we had a great old '67 Eagle that we called "Boomerang" (You know, always comes back). We dubbed the new bus "Boomerang II" I think we got that bus in 85 or so, however. My bunk was the middle one on the right as you walk down the hall past the closets. I was in the driver rotation at the time and I out a few miles on that dude. It was and I'm sure still is a great one. That bus was owned by my friend Johnny Lyons for a while, and I know he would take care of it. These are about the only kind of "bus stories" I could tell you. After all, Bob runs a family forum here! Tommy
