In 1970, Capitol Records released an album by a group called Rig that included Weldon Myrick and was produced by Elliot Mazer and Adam Mitchell. Anyone know what happened to the band and its other members? Thanks.

Scott, hmmm I'm interested..don't suppose you have info on the other pickers on the LP?Elliot Mazer was involved with Weldon's Nashville country-rock group AREA CODE 615 who were really quite funky and eclectic..lasting 1968 to 1970.

Well, I would assume that Buffalo Buttrey is none other than the famous Kenneth A. Buttery, aka Ken Buttery who played R&B with the classic Nashville group Terry Knight & the Paramounts in the early 1960s, then later a session cat, notably with Monumnet Records's Music City Five, which supplied about half the members of Area Code 615, Kenny has played on some great country and rock albums and then some. I do believe he even had an early 1970s stint with the Area Code 615 spin-off Barefoot Jerry, around 1972-1973?

Thanks for the info. 3 CDs (two albums each) are available for Barefoot Jerry and one is coming out soon for Area Code 615 that I'm gonna check out.

Scott, there was a two LP set of both of Area Code 615's albs that was issued by Polydor in Australia. This appears to have been deleted. From memory the arrangements could sound a little dated, but having said that some of the stuff is totally cooking. Wayne Moss plays some real Claptonesque blues parts and the rhythm section rolls between stone country, rock and soul. But hey, half the guys played in Muscle Shoals on soul and R&B sessions before they hit Tennessee.[This message was edited by Jason Odd on 15 September 2000 at 08:57 AM.]

Back in the early 70's, Adam Mitchell was a songwriter-performer around Toronto.
