![]() ![]() What happened to Roy Honeycutt? He was as far as I know part of the 1940s San Jose, Tracy Gardens, Maples Hall in San Pablo, scene, before replacing Noel Boggs as steel player in the Texas Playboys for a brief period in 1946, before leaving to work with the Luke Wills band in 1946. In Fresno I think? He's on quite a few on the Tiffany Transcriptions from the Wills era, which of course are partially issued on various CDs. I've also heard that Roy played with Big Jim DeNoone, possibly at Napredak Hall, can anyone confirm this or tell me of other recordings Honeycutt may have done? Jason |

![]() ![]() Roy passed away 7 or 8 years ago, he spent his last years in Turlock, Ca just a few miles from me. He had a son "Willie" that turened out to be a fine steel and guitar player not sure bout Roy's playing history other that him working with the Wills boy's. ------------------

![]() ![]() Hi David, good to hear from you. I was afraid that Roy had passed away, like Vance Terry he only gets a footnote with Wills as their stays were so breif, but definately talented guys. Thanks for the info and I'll keep searching. |
