![]() ![]() Hi Brett....the gentlemans name You asked about is Denny Hemingson. He has been with Tim pretty much from the beginning. Denny is an old friend of mine & also a great guitar player in addition to being a fine steel guitarist. We worked tohether back home in Minnesota for years. An interesting slideline to his playing...he lived & worked fulltime as a musician in Hawaii for at least 8-10 years.During that time he took regular lessons on the steel guitar from none other than Jerry Byrd. !!! He has many interesting stories to relate about learning from Mr. Byrd ...& working & living in Hawaii in general.btw....Brett,your determination & dedication to the steel should serve as an inspiration to us all....imho. ![]() Hi Bret, hope this finds you well. The first 2 years that Tim had his deal on Curb Records, I was the steel player. The first album was out and only sold 30,000 units. The first single released was called "What Room Was The Holiday In". I was in the video for the second single that was called "Welcome To The Club" Sonny Garrish played on that session. The personal management at that time was Bill Quisenberry at Talent Group International. I also played on the country music usa show at opryland durring some of that time. When I quit The late great GENE O'NEIL played a few shows with Tim and they also tried out Jay Andrews before they hired a big guy from over in east Tennessee. After him came Denny. I worked a show up in Virginia with Denny and he was on guitar and I was on steel. He's a great guy with a lot of stories among them how the salt water in Hawaii affected the aluminum necks and endplates on his Sho-Bud Pro 3. Have a great day.
