I have to admit that when I first read the names of the pickers who endorse Sierra steel guitars in the Musician's Friend catalogue I was only familiar with one of the endorsers.

In particular, I had never heard of Bobby Dixon.

Well, when I recently moved back to Fort Worth I had the pleasure of meeting Bobby Dixon. What a steel player. He totally blows me away on C6th. Great tone and touch. And fast as greased lightning.

Twice he has come over to my house -- the last time was yesterday -- and set up his equipment to jam. He taught me a bunch, too.

The stories he tells of some of the great steel pickers had me rolling the floor with laughter.

Another guy that proves that you never know when a killer picker will pop up.

Do any of you know Bobby Dixon or have you heard of him.

I don't know Bobby Dixon, but have seen him play a few times. He was playing his white Sierra on one of the jam stages at Turkey, TX this year. Pretty tasty stuff.

Yes, I know Bobby Dixon...good western-swing player, and he is also secretary of the WESTERN SWING MUSIC SOCIETY OF THE SOUTHWEST.
To find out more, go to my web-site, or more directly, to the WSMSS page of my web-site and follow the links: http://genejones.bizland.com/wsmss.htm

That white Sierra is nice, he showed it to me right after he bought it....when you see him next time ask him if he ever got all the Harley-Davidson stickers off of it. www.genejones.com

David.....I will even send him a "Ride to Live, Live to Ride" sticker that I have extra! Seriously, I think Bobby kind of liked the HD decals, and would secretly like to have a Harley, but it's his wife that's holding him back.....

Who we should counsel about the attributes of Harley-Davidson though is Gerry Walker. He's planning a trip from California to the east coast and back on his Goldwing. If he traded it for a Harley he would only have to ride to Bakersfield and he would "FEEL" like he had gone to the east coast....then he could get home sooner and make some more Stereo Steel rigs.
