Emmons 1969 PP steel with 9 & 6. Emmons setup. I have had this guitar since Ron Lashley delivered it to my home in 69.

Often times I read that guitars have never been on a gig. This one can make that statement. I dont think I have over 40 hours of use on this Black Beauty Mica.

Original strings (not rusted) still on the guitar. Original everything, case volume pedal etc. Case is covered in Red.

The only one time I played this outside of my home was back in 1970,when I played for a PSGA show.

I can attest that this guitar is in new condition. The late Fred Trogden did this guitar for me from scratch back in 1969.

Jpegs available.

Thank You.

Original strings!? Holy Cow!

Look up "under-the-bed-guitar" in the musician's dictionary and you'll see a picture of this one! Except that it wasn't technically under a bed.

And what a great vintage of this instrument. AND built by Fred Trogdon. Uh... has someone informed Jay Dee of this puppy?

I've seen and played this guitar.
It's as described.

Frankly, I'm surprized it's for sale.

Jody's main love is non-pedal, so this guitar has LOW miles.

I'd like to have it just because it was Jody's! Where do we start the bidding? How about right here! Sombody open with an offer and we'll see where it goes in two weeks. Jody gets to pick the bidder of his choice.
Remember guys, in 1969 there were only 53 D-10s manufactured. This is also a great year for Emmons. My personal favorites for tone, playability, collectibility, sentimental value are the split neck, wide pedal spacing guitars. Jody's is the rarest of them all. A '69 in perfect original condition. A very rare find. It should go to someone that loves it and appreciates it for what it truly is. And someone that won't butcher it and try to make it something it isn't.
The future value is bright for these guitars as there will be no more.

If I`m remembering correctly somebody on this forum said that Emmons push-pulls don`t have bass and that they have too much treble ot something like that.I`m wondering,if they sound so terrible why so much noise around this old guitar...

Would someone please let Mike Sweeney know about this guitar. I'm almost sure he'd like to have it. Heck, I'd buy it myself but I have too many already. Nick

Jody,
How much do you want for the guitar and what's the serial number?
I have a 69 D10 and would love to know the number.
Also, thank you Bobbe for the interesting historical information. Only 53 made to that point!! They sure got it right in a hurry!

Howard; Do they still have the ‘Death Penalty’ in N.Y.? That should be enough of a deterent! For Shame!¡! (Just Joshin’)
Anyway, I've been trying to contact Jody, and got no reply, so; after calling him on the phone, I learned that his poor-old PC is once again Down and Out! I have passed on all of the Posts, and he'll call me back, sooner or later, if he can't get ‘Up and Running’ in a reasonable length of time! I suppose he may need a few days time to get straightened out! He thanks everyone for their interest!

Jim Heffernan, no, only 53 made in '69, not total 'til then.
1969 was the lowest production of D-10 guitars ever, since 1964 anyway.
(Looks like the Emmons may break that record this year though!)
1974 was the highest production year of D-10 steels at well over two hundred. There was no "best year". Everyone has their personal favorets. I have mine, every one of them.

Hey John, just trying to get back at those guys who rigged up and gouged Stringmasters with hangers and chain instead of learning their slants!

All those botch jobs could have been prevented if Bobbe's non pedal video were available back then.

Don't mean to hijack Jody's thread...now back to our regularly scheduled program.....

Jerry, it would probably sell real quick on E-Bay, judging from some of the "hybrids" shown there recently!

What effortless hand technique to achieve a rich tone these guitars offer! I play a 76' Emmons and love my tone. You probably won't even have to try much at all to get a good tone out of this 69' beauty - it'll do it for you.

My first D-10 Emmons was sent to
Weldon (who was selling them back then)
in June of '69. I got ahold of it about
5 years later & still have it.
Definitely a screamer!!!
