It has come to our attention that there are rumors circulating throughout the steel guitar industry that the future of Mullen Guitar Co. Inc. may be in question. I would like to take this time to put an end to these rumors and let everyone know that the future of this company is very bright and after adding several excellent new members to our staff we are changing more and more for the better. Also I would like to let everyone know that if anybody has had trouble trying to contact us via e-mail it is because our computer's hard drive crashed and we lost most of our e-mail. We have fixed this problem and it is fully up and running so please feel free to e-mail us with your questions and comments at delmullen@mullenguitars.com or visit us on the web at www.mullenguitars.com

Hello, Del, How is your nephew, Ray Mullen, in Ogallala, Nebraska? Man, it has been a long time. I played for Ray,(& the VIP's, on steel)from 1985-86. What a great bunch. See you in the 'big D' next month.

Del,
I had not heard that rumor but am glad to hear that the Mullen Guitar Co. is doing very well. My 1995 Mullen D10 is a smooth playing, great looking and sounding guitar.

My beautiful '91 D-11 Rosewood Mullen is still an awesome instrument. It gets a lot of complements whereever I go. It sounds great and I keep wishing it would wear out so I could find an excuse to buy a new one. Del builds the best. It is first class all the way, Thanks, Gary.

I got my first Mullen in 1984 and have been playing and selling Mullen guitars ever since and as I have said many times, Mullen is without a doubt the finest guitar I have ever played, bar none, for tone, workmanship, string breakage, playability and much more. I had heard this ridiculous rumor from one of my customers and it really bothers me when things like this get started. It wouldn't surprise me if it was started by a competitor, but things like this should be stopped. Steel players who spread rumors they know nothing about should spend more time behind the steel learning to play instead of gossiping and if it is a manufacturer, he should spend more time trying to improve his product as Del Mullen has. Del Mullen is also a good steel player in addition to being a builder, so he knows how the guitar should sound and play and this is one of the reasons his guitars are far surperior.

One of my main goals in starting the Forum was to squash false rumors quickly. Before the Internet, these things would float around for years.

I hate to think that a competitor would start a rumor like that. More likely, it was a misunderstanding in something someone said that got repeated and distorted. Thanks, Del, for setting the record straight.

I don't own a Mullen, but if I had the bucks, I would buy one in a second. On 2 seperate occasions at 2 different steel guitar shows, I thought a Mullen was the single best sounding guitars at the show.
