Finally found a good hardshell case for lap steels. I put it on the Hotsheet at Melobar.com, I have it at cost if you already have a Melobar Lap Steel. That has really been tough to find! Anybody out there finds a case that fits, please-always let me know.[This message was edited by Brad Bechtel on 09 March 2000 at 10:07 AM.] |

Hi, Ted, don't know if you've seen the case Sierra is shipping with their new "laptops" but the one I got with mine appears to be some kind of a gun case, two inside layers of foam with just the top layer cut out for the shape of the steel. Works real well, just needs an accesory pocket! I think gun cases, with the weatherproof sealing valance, are probably a good bet for laps- I'd bet there are a bunch in the pawnshops.------------------ Mark van Allen-"Blueground Undergrass" Mullen D-10, Fender Dual Professional, Dobro, Sierra 8 string

Mark, those are SKB cases, I've got one too. I don't know if they make gun cases, but when I carry my Sierra around in it that's what I feel like I'm carrying. They make many other cases for guitars, there's almost a page of them in Musician's Friend catalog. A bit oversized for the Sierra, but they do a fine job. | |
