Have any of you used this G6 tuning.
High to low- E D B G E D B
I've got this on a 7 string so thats the reason I don't have the low G string.

Yes, I use this tuning on my acoustic 8-string and on one neck of my D8. I started with it because it combines standard dobro with standard Spanish guitar tuning, and it was easy to keep oriented. I've always thought that if I had a 7-string I would go without the high e, but that would be for solo playing - in most group situations, I'd probably be better off with your tuning.

The sixth on top seems to work well for a lot of melodies - I think this is a good all-purpose tuning.

Sometimes I switch it to an E7 tuning by changing two strings, which is a nice contrast. I also use string pulls a lot, mostly half-steps.
