I couldn't find any information on the internet about them, although there's a Cajun group called the Cherokee Playboys.

i have 2 singles by gene allen:gene allen and his oklahoma playboys: make mine western swing/silver lake blues; issued on stoneway 1067 from 1972; recorded in houston gene allen and his cherokee playboys: secret love affair/oklahoma gal; issued on tokalon 1042; unknown location and date, but probably 1960s. haven't played either in ages, so can't say who the steeler is; herby remington played on a lot of stoneway label stuff. |
