Just thought I'd let all you big McIntire disciples know:

C#m??? What's with the kids these days? You think you can't make decent music with the A maj? Bah humbug! The world's going to hell in a handbasket.

p.s. Jesse Pearson, I think it's got that F#9th info you were interested in. Oh, I see you've bid on it already?

The seller says
quote:
The arrangements include many heard on Dick McIntires records and radio shows

NOT TRUE ... there is only ONE named tune... the above mentioned "ALOHA TEARS"
and that's only 16 bars.....

There are ......7 pages of C#m7th ....5 pages of E7th and 2 pages of F#9th.
He lists the tunings thus (High to low)

E7th TUNING E B G# D B E

C# Minor TUNING E C# G# E B E

F#9th TUNING E C# G# E A# F#

Also the foreword suggests obtaining the Dick McIntire "Chord and Harmony Chart" (E7th-1)
and "Chord and Tuning Chart F#th Tuning" (F1)
from your local dealer or direct to the publisher Ball Music Publishing Co. Hollywood, Calif.
I don't think they're still in stock !!!

I have some of this old Dick McIntire / Roland Ball stuff. My gut feeling is they're Roland Ball arrangements with Dick McIntire agreeing to add his name. Any thoughts ?

Ricky Davis's chord finder on his "SS Hawaiian" web site, saves alot of time in writing out charts for different tunings. I have a note book with alot of different tunings all printed out from Ricky's wonderful site. I've had to fill in a couple of empty spots here and there. I'm writing out scales and things that I've been adding to the tunings I am most interested in. F#9 has a real early swing jazz feel for me and for blues it's a trip.

Dick McIntire taught alot as did Sol, I wouldn't think Dick would just put his name on anything? I'm sure Mr. Ball, Dick and Sol all hung out together in southern Cal. and were friends. The Dick McIntire book looks like a great collectors find. Thanks Jeff...!
