I arrived home from work this evening and found my copy of the PSGA newsletter in my mailbox.Reading the review of The 18th Annual Kentucky Steel Guitar Classic, there was reference to Scotty, kicking off the show with his new Anapeg Lap Steel. Nothing else was really said about it. For those who may not be familiar with the name Anapeg, it is said to be the most finely crafted pedal steel guitar and it is all handmade in Australia. This is the first I've heard of an Anapeg non pedal guitar. Does anyone have any info on this? |

I'm sure that Noel will answer your questions if you email him. Just like his pedal steels, he makes a superlative lap steel but, as far as I know, made of gidgee ... that dense Australian hardwood that weighs a ton. It's so heavy that my Anapeg pedal steel will be made of Leopard Ash (still heavy and dense but less so). Noel has a love for gidgee. I believe that Tom Brumley has an Anapeg lap steel also.Graham | |
