Hey guys, I have this awesome dobro. I have noticed a few fingerprints on the coverplate and also I'd like to clean the wood as well. Its a Gibson custom shop Dobro with sort-of a crackled antique finish. Would you know of any special cleaning or maintenance requirements? Thanks in advance, Wayne Baker |

Here is some advice from a letter that I received from custom luthier Bobby Wolfe; quote: clean w water and/or glass cleaner & wax with paste wax. Simonize or other, - metal parts & all - I use Olde English on the fretboard every few years to keep it from drying or cracking.
Paul Beard has an excellent video on setting up and maintenance. |

My general philospophy is that unless an instrument is really grimy, I look for the least invasive way of cleaning my guitars. I generally use only a STRAD cloth which is specially made for cleaning fine instruments. You can see info here (scroll down): http://www.gaspedal.com/polish.htm |
