Topic: Date/Serial# on Fender Deluxe 6 lap?

This pristine Fender Deluxe 6 lap steel I just got has serial number 0036. It's got the trapezoidal pickup that has the strings running thru it. Anyone know the date?Thanks, Auset Parks |

Fender steels cannot be dated by serial number. Remove the tuner pan and you sould see the month and year handwritten on the wood in pencil. Dating the volume/tone control pots is also another good method. See Gruhn's Guide to Vintage Guitars for pot date codes or post your pot numbers here and one of us will help |
