I know many have been patiently waiting as I learned how to bring a picture to the Forum. The other thread was getting so long to scroll through, so I thought I would start fresh, and anyone interested could get right to the pictures... First, I stained with a "pecan" coating, lightly, to give the wood a glow. Then three coats of tung oil. Let it dry in between coats. Cut a piece of cardboard, the size of your control cavity. Mount and wire controls there first. Pull your bridge and pick-up wires through first. Then fit the pots around the input jack. Wire bridge ground and p/u wires to controls. Use a heat sink for your caps! Avoid cooking them. Set your pick-up height. Some kind of flexable foam under the pick-up will do. Get ready to wail! 1937 model 59. Oh No! How'd that get in there. Some thanks to Rick A. who has given his help with my first lap. NOTE: I tried to copy a large close up of the Dynalap, but could not get the BB to take it. I'll try to get it in later. My thanks to everyone who contributed in the original thread ( there were many ). I certainly did feel the support from my FoBros' to a newbie, in bringing this project from the mailing box to your computer. Now, once I learn how to link my music to a thread, you'll really be in for it

Mark, just a tip for your posting now that you're into the photos....you can delete all of the "edited by" lines at the bottom of your post by clicking on edit, and deleting all of the editing info on the bottom of the page. This way, no matter how many times you edit your post, there will only be one edit line. Hope this helps. |

Those Dynalaps look great. What a needed contribution to steelers these kits are.It even got Don out of his house, snow on the ground & all. |

Howard--- Thanks for the tip on editing and kind words .There does seem to be a place for the kits.Spring is a hectic time around here.I'm trying to get out from under a bunch of boat and cabinetry work so I can launch a few new steel designs and ideas. |
