Two quads on E-bay in the same week! Not your average occurence. I think that if these were long scales they would be underpriced, but seeing how they are mid's, I think they are priced relatively fair for the market, with maybe the "Buy it now" a little high on the one. After all, how many quads did Leo make? And you know, nothing sounds as sweet as a Stringmaster~!

The rediscovery of non-pedal Steel has it's price as that market increases and supply declines.

The present decrepid economy has sucked the blood out of the best economy we've ever had in the late 1990's. The present economy is fraught with inflated bubbles based much on pure "blind" faith and empirical propping / shoring lumber ...with not much to fall back on when/if shoring timber breaks and/or when the bubbles deflate, since the blood is critically low.

When I buy an instrument for re-sell today, I ask myself if I could make 30% profit after the costs of acquisition (shipping in, cleaning up, unforeseen repair, overhead, advertising, motion and shipping out ...etc.). Buying instruments for myself I ask myself if over the next 5 years I should need to liquidate, could I stand the bubble popping and the market price dropping to half of market value today.

In another case, I keep the D8 & D6 bridge covers right on the guitars, I don't dare take "em" off with my memory....Can't remember where I put the case....

One cover on the "55" D8 rattles ever so slightly. But with the rock band I jam with, you couldn't hear a Fire Engine go by to a 14 bell alarm!!! Good thing about it though, it bothers the big cat.

Hmmm, $1800 plus big one's for 55 lbs of steel...that a lotta stash for that weight...probably rattles too..TX

And Doug Beaumier tells me that there was a pristine blonde Quad that went for 5K on eBay 5 years ago. He showed me some pics too, and it looked exactly like it did back in 1953 when it was brand new - breathtaking . .
