I found an old Supro at a local guitar shop and am thinking of picking it up. Is there any place I can go to research supro models? I'm not sure of the going rate for these things. The store is asking $325.

You'll find pics of several models on Brad's website, and if it has a serial number you can find the production year here.

Thanks Andy and Steiner.

It looks like it is a Supro Studio Deluxe.

Anyone have any idea if $325 is an okay price for one of these?

BTW,

Steiner, when I was in Dallas, I ran into some steelers from Norway. I said, "You must know Steiner?"

They said, "Of course we know Steiner!"

then they paused and said, "Which Steiner?"

I said, "Gregertsen" and they said, "Oh....we know him too."

Me and Howard fell on the floor laughing.

Well, I bought it. It's a 1959 Supro Studio Deluxe. Quite an amazing lap steel. The tone is to die for, especially for blues. I think this will become my 6 string lap from now on. Very cool indead.
